Is Black Adam a villain in comics?

Black Adam is a 2022 American superhero movie based on the DC Comics character that bears the same name.

Johnson was hired to Shazam! early on and confirmed to play the villain Black Adam in September 2014, but the makers eventually decided to give the character his own movie.

Over the following year, further casting did take place, including four members of the Justice Society of America, and Noshirvani and Haines rewrote the script.

Filming began in Trilith Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, as well as in Los Angeles, from April to August 2021.

After the success of Shazam!, New Release prioritised Black Adam. Jaume Collet-Serra was in discussions to produce the film in June 2019

Collet-Serra compared Black Adam to a superhero Dirty Harry, adding that the film will depict a darker aspect of Johnson than the adventure comedy Jungle Cruise.

Johnson said that shooting will begin in July 2020 and that Black Adam would be released on Dec 22, 2021. While Shazam will not be in the film, Justice Society of America will.
