For the past six years, Rihanna has primarily lived in our cosmetic bags, lingerie drawers, and Instagram feeds while she concentrated on her beauty and fashion companies and became a mother. Now, with the release of “Lift Me Up,” her first new song since her 2016 album “Anti,” she’s back in our ears.

Rihana and her BF in Black Panther in an international premiere
The song is the lead single from the soundtrack of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” and it was co-written by the bad gal herself, Terms, the film’s director Ryan Coogler, and Swedish composer Ludwig Göransson in honor of the late “Black Panther” star Chadwick Boseman.
The song is a beautiful ballad with delicate strings that highlight Rihanna’s voice as she sings a simple chorus, “Lift me up, Hold me down, Keep me near, Safe and sound.”
Rihanna previewed the new music with a 14-second snippet of her humming the opening notes before anxious ears had the chance to hear the complete more than 3-minute tune.

Rihanna’s voice “has been an inspiration” to co-writer Terms, who intended to create “Lift Me Up” to feel like a “warm hug” from all of the ones she’s lost.
Rihana and her BF
Rihanna, 34, and her boyfriend A$AP Rocky Rocky enjoyed a date night sans their baby as they walked the red carpet for the film’s international premiere on Wednesday night. The “Fashion Killa” duo strolled down the press line in matching Rick Owens ensembles.
The singer is due to lead the 2023 Super Bowl halftime performance in February, which will put her on an even greater stage. Since her announcement in September, very few facts concerning her performance have emerged.
In a news release, Jay-Z, who created the Roc Nation label, which has an entertainment deal with the NFL, commended Rihanna as “a generational talent, a woman of modest beginnings who has surpassed expectations at every step.”

“A self-made businessman and artist born on the little island of Barbados,” the rapper stated, “who came to renown as one of the world’s most well-known entertainers.”
After shocking the world with a pregnancy announcement in January, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky welcomed their first child together in May.
Rihanna was on the cover of Vogue magazine’s May edition, where she detailed her relationship with Rocky.
“People don’t go out of the friend zone very quickly with me,” she stated in the April 12 cover article. “And it took me a lot to understand how well I knew him and how well he understood me because we both understood how much difficulty we can get ourselves into.”
