An ex-Playboy model charged with the murder of a 71-year-old psychiatrist whom police claim was helping her pay her bills pleaded guilty to a second-degree murder charge earlier this week following his brutal murder in Las Vegas.

Charges on accused Kelsey Turner
Kelsey Turner, 29, was arrested and accused of murder and conspiring to murder the murder of Thomas Burchard of Salinas, California, in April of 2019. Clark County District Court records indicate.
Kelsey Turner entered into an Alford plea on Wednesday, according to court records. As part of a deal by the attorneys involved in the case, Kelsey Turner maintains her innocence; however, she pleaded guilty to a 2nd-degree murder indictment.
Las Vegas police stated that Burchard moved across California and returned to Las Vegas, where Kelsey Turner was living at the time, to break up their relationship of two years. He allegedly gave her a monthly allowance that included rental payment, The Californian, which is reported parts of USA TODAY’s network.

According to the outlet, Burchard was later discovered dead in the car’s trunk that was left abandoned by Mercedes-Benz. Burchard was killed by blunt head trauma from the force, According to the police, who discovered the vehicle on a deserted road close to Lake Mead after Burchard’s longtime girlfriend had reported him missing.
According to an arrest warrant, Burchard’s girlfriend, Judy Earp, believed Kelsey Turner might be in the mix. Earp told The Californian her boyfriend had offered the younger woman around $300,000 over the two years.

Earp stated that she had not had a personal meeting with the model but added that Burchard had been acquainted with Kelsey Turner for two years.
“He was always helping people,” Earp told me. “Anybody with a sad story, you know. Some people took advantage of that.”

On May 31, 2019, court documents indicate that a grand jury indicted Kelsey Turner and Jon “Logan” Kennison on murder charges concerning his death.
Another defendant in the trial, Diana Pena, pleaded guilty in June of 2019 to the charge of accessory to murder, according to court records show.

As reported by The Las Vegas Review-Journal, Pena roommate of the couple, was able to testify before an inquest that she saw Kennison hit a baseball bat at Burchard.
According to the outlet, Kelsey Turner and Kennison had planned to bring Burchard to the hospital after he was hit with the bat; however, later, Turner started demanding that her partner “knock Thomas out,” Pena admitted to the jury.

Kennison admitted in June to second-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder. He got sentenced to a total sentence of 45 years of prison.
Court records indicate that Kelsey Turner is scheduled to be sentenced for the charges in January.
