At a rally for supporters at the Luna Culture Lab in the heart of Phoenix, Katie Hobbs said, “Last night, our campaign was officially called (by media organizations), and I am pleased to stand before you as governor-elect.” “It was a very long and one-half year. In this election, Arizonans decided to solve our problems instead of the conspiracy theory.”

Katie Hobbs admitted that Republican rival Kari Lake, endorsed former President Donald Trump, has not given up on the election, at least for the moment. Lake denied the 2020 presidential election outcome during her campaign and could not accept the results this year should she suffer losing. On Monday, Lake tweeted: “Arizonans know BS when they see it.”

“The attacks on democracy won’t end today with this victory, and so it is on all of us to continue to defend it,” Katie Hobbs stated to supporters. Katie Hobbs jumped out to a slight lead in early results, but the race was undecided until Monday, and she could confirm that Associated Press and other media outlets predicted Katie Hobbs as the winner. Nearly 42,000 ballots are still being counted on Tuesday afternoon.

Katie Hobbs will become governor for the very first time as a Democrat-appointed governor for Arizona in the state’s history since Janet Napolitano left to join the Obama administration as secretary of Homeland Security in 2009. The assistant Arizona Secretary of State Allie Bones said in an interview with CNN that Katie Hobbs would approve the official certification of the election. However, the governor. Doug Ducey and Arizona Supreme Court Chief Justice Robert M. Brutinel will participate in this certification procedure.

The feeling of relief and joy was the primary emotions of the gathering in the tiny venue.

“We’re very excited,” Arizona Democratic Party Chair Raquel Teran stated. “We knew we would have to wait until every single vote got counted, so we are excited with the results.”

A few members of the Hobbs family, including their twin sister Becky Hobbs and daughter Hannah Goodman, were present at the celebration. They shared that the entire process of counting votes was an emotional rollercoaster and that the anxiety diminished each time the election results were updated.

The members of Arizona unions also took part in the rally to celebrate victory, calling Hobbs an open and supportive leader. Harris Harrigan, an affiliate of the Service Employees International Union and representing subcontractors at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, is thrilled with the outcome.

“It’s good that we have a governor that’s going to work to fight for workers’ rights,” Harrigan stated. I’m a member of the union, therefore we are confident that she would support the employees and take all necessary steps to ensure that everyone receives a living wage and other things of the kind.

Teran declared she was hopeful in the direction of “truth and facts prevailing” and that the election’s outcome “protected democracy.”

“We know that for the last two years, Republicans have campaigned on misinformation. They campaigned on the Big Lie,” Teran stated regarding Lake along with other Republicans who have denied the outcome of the presidential election in 2020. “It’s regrettable to sow that type of distrust in our election system, but today’s message is that more people believe in democracy.”

Katie Hobbs revealed her top priorities Tuesday: working to address water issues while ensuring her U.S.-Mexico border. Katie Hobbs added that she would utilize “every tool at my disposal” to end the recently restored 15-week ban on abortions in the state and safeguard abortion rights. Katie Hobbs also stressed the importance of working together with both sides to tackle Arizona’s numerous problems. She also criticized those members of the Republican Party who do not wish to collaborate with Democrats.

In order to get to work, reach a bipartisan agreement, and serve Arizona’s citizens, Hobbs vowed that both Republicans and Democrats would be welcome to enter his office. “Take note of the results of this election for those who choose to obstruct, promote false information, and continue to pursue extremist agenda out of touch with our state.”

One Hobbs fan, Rebecca Gau, executive director of Stand for Children in Arizona and self-described conservative, expressed her appreciation for Hobbs his commitment to bipartisanship.

“It’s fascinating to see that people can come together for smart ideas, getting work done and trying to put some of this crazy stuff behind us,” Gau said.

As she closed her remarks, Katie Hobbs declared, “it’s time to roll up our sleeves.”

“The voters sent a loud and clear message,” she added. “They rejected the chaos because we have urgent problems, and they need and expect all of us to deliver, so let’s roll up our sleeves and get to work.”
