What a shame!” Billie recalled, referring to the online criticism she was subjected to for her Instagram post of bikini photos. “It was hot. There were comments such as, “I don’t like her anymore because once she’s 18, she’s a freak.”Like you, I’m not winning. I’m not able to win.”
It is reported that the Los Angeles native also revealed the time she was uncomfortable with her body.
“There was a point last year where I was naked and didn’t recognize my body ’cause I hadn’t seen it in a while,” she said. “I would see it sometimes and be like, ‘Whose body is that?'”
In another interview to Elle In a separate interview with Elle, in a separate interview with Elle, the “Therefore I Am” artist admitted that bullying online affected her during her teenage teens. She also revealed that she chose to wear large-sized clothes for her career as a singer “because of [her] body.”
“If that had happened three years ago, when I was in the midst of my horrible body relationship — or dancing a ton, five years ago, I wasn’t really eating,” Billie stated in January 2021. She was referring to the critique she was subjected to. “I was eating my way through the day … Then I can remember taking a medication that said it would aid in losing weight but it was the only thing that made me go to the bed — and that was when I was just 12. It’s totally insane. I can’t even believe it.”
She concluded that she “thought that [she] would be the only one dealing with [her] hatred for [her] body,” however, she added, “I believe the internet dislikes my body. That’s awesome the internet isn’t happy with women.”
Despite the body-shaming and humiliation, Billie promotes self-love, and her fans praised her for sharing her vacation pictures when they commented on her blog post.
